N Kumar takes over as VC of TNAU

Coimbatore : Dr N Kumar on Friday assumed charge as Vice-Chancellor of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU).

Born at Kadukkarai in Kanyakumari district, Kumar was Dean (horticulture) of TNAU from July 2009 to June 2013.

He has a rich professional experience of 36 years in research, teaching, extension, farm management and various administrative posts, a TNAU statement said.

After retirement, he took up assignments as member, Quiennial Review Team, ICAR, Central Institute for Arid Horticulture, Bikaner, and ICAR- AICRP on arid zone fruit crops among others.

Kumar took the charge from K Ramasamy.
