Coimbatore girl bags bronze at national shooting contest

Coimbatore girl N Nivetha and Prithiviraj Thondaiman of Pudukkottai bagged the third place for Tamil Nadu in the mixed trap team event by scoring 133/150 at the national level on November 23.

They represented the State at the 62nd Shotgun National Shooting Championship Competition going on at the Oases JDA Shooting Range in Jaipur from November 16 to December 3.

Nivetha is a member of Coimbatore Rifle Club and Prithiviraj of Pudukottai Royal Sports Club. She has been a part of the Indian team for five years and represented the country in the shotgun trap event at the 2017 World Cup in Italy and 2017 World Championship in Moscow.

The gold medal was bagged by Manavjit and Rajeswari Kumari of Punjab with a score of 135/150 and the silver went to the Delhi team of Fahd Sultan and Soumya Gupta (133/150).
