CPI urges authorities to provide land to 3,000 families close to the city

Coimbatore : CPI on Sunday urged the administration to allot land to those to be dislocated from the banks of Mutthanan Tank in the city in the area belonged to Housing board in Veerakeralam.

The party Tamil Nadu secretary, R Mutharasan, who visited the area, said in a statement that nearly 3,000 families are living in the area for the last three generations and the City Corporation has decided to dislocate them,
thus affecting their livelihood, education and future of children.

In view of this the families had requested the authorities to allot land close to the city, he said.

Mutharasan, who visited the area along with party treasurer, M Arumugham and district leaders, urged the officials to allot land at Veerakeralam, belonging to the Housing board.
