Tight security cover for President’s visit

Coimbatore : Tight security cover has been thrown in and around the city, as President, Ram Nath Kovind arrived Sunday evening to participate in two functions tomorrow.

Over 5,000 police personnel are on security in the city and rural limits, as Kovind will award Presidents Colours to two Air Force Stations including Base Repair Depot at Sulur on the outskirts in the morning.

As part of security cover and tight vigilance, 3,700 police personnel are deployed in rural area, as Kovind is scheduled to participate in the Maha Shivaratri Celebrations at Isha Yoga Centre, some 25 kms from the city, from 6 PM to 8.30 PM, police sources said.

The entire stretch of 20 km to Isha will be closed for traffic in the evening till the President leave for Circuit House where he is staying, hey said.
