Talk with DMDK will end smoothly: SP Velumani

Coimbatore : Talks for an alliance between AIADMK and DMDK will soon end smoothly, State Municipal Administration Minister, S P Velumani said Tuesday.

Both the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, K Palanisamy and O Paneerselvam respectively were hopeful of the negotiations arriving favourably, Velumani told reporters on the sidelines of a function where he distributed various welfare schemes.

The minister handed over Rs.1.60 crore to 13 persons, whose land was acquired for Air port expansion and also welfare schemes to nearly 230 beneficiaries at the function.

When asked about the remaining persons, who had given land for air port expansion, he said that many of them had demanded increased guideline value for their land.

As per the direction of Chief Minister, steps are being taken to increase the guideline value and those given the land will be given alternate land, where new houses will be constructed, he said.

Once the expansion was complete, a large number of industries, particularly from IT sector will invest, which will create job opportunities, development of trade, resulting in increase in the revenue,he said.
