Coimbatore : In a tragic incident, the 27-year old son of a mahout was trampled to death by a tamed elephant in a camp near Top Slip in the district on Thursday.
According to police, Ayyappan, son of Karuppasamy, was taking the kumki elephant Durga for morning food and grazing at Kozhikamudi camp, some 60 KMs from here.
Durga suddenly turned towards and attacked Ayyappan, resulting in his spot death. Further investigations are on.
