Of limited means, these ladies are rich in thought for others; pledge to donate their body parts

Sandha, Amutha Ravikumar, Kalaiselvi , three women from Coimbatore signed up for Organ and Body donation today at Coimbatore Government Hospital today to mark the International World Women’s day.

Amutha Ravikumar, told the Covai Post stated that they want to set a milestone for other women to get inspired and also to create awareness about donating body parts. “I always wanted to donate my eyes, to see the world even after my death” she added.

“In my childhood, I always aspired to study more. But due to poverty, I wasn’t able to pursue education beyond graduation. Now I work in a college as a computer lab technician and interact with youngsters’ every day. I want to inspire the younger generation and contribute myself for their development. After interacting with ‘Pasiyaara Soru’ foundation members, I decided to donate my organs and also my body for medical research” said Kalaiselvi.

Sandha is a senior citizen who resides in a hospice. On being asked on what motivated her to sign up for body donation at this age, she said “all the life we live for our own self, at least after death we should do something for the society. My body will be used for the younger generation’s education and medical research. This is philanthropy in my definition”

Raja Murali Sethu, Founder of ‘Pasiyaraa Soru’ Foundation, has been instrumental in this initiative and have inspired 73 people to donate their organs in the past two years. He stated that their foundation has five core members, collect excess food from hotels, parties, weddings and distribute to less fortunate across the city. He also added that Pasiyara Soru foundation guides people who are willing to donate body/organs.
