Coimbatore : A gang of four women chain snatchers were caught Saturday when they tried to remove jewels from a woman commuter in the city.

According to police, the gang carrying a child entered a private bus and out of sympathy. a woman offered a seat to the woman carrying the baby.

As the bus reached some distance, the woman attempted to pull the ornaments from another woman sitting in the front seat. Noticing this, a few standing passengers caught the duo.

As the bus stopped, the other two managed to get down and ran towards safety at Kembatti Colony. However, The passengers chased and thrashed them, along with the public in the area and informed police, who rushed to the spot and took them to the police station.
