3 auto drivers arrested for breaking open ATM

Coimbatore : In a swift action, police arrested three persons early Friday for attempting to break open an ATM in Kavundampalayam in the city.
      
According to police, three persons had entered the ATM around midnight Thursday as if to withdraw cash. The CCTV footage showed that two of them went out the third  began to break open the machine, they said.
   
However, the trio fled the scene when the alarm bell rang.
   
The bank official, who got alerted with the alarm bell, immediately informed police, who rushed to the spot and after going  through the CCTV footage began hunting for the culprits, they said.
   
Police identified the trio as auto-rickshaw drivers in the area and managed to arrest them around 5 am, they said.
  
All the three–Rangarajan, Balaji and Bhuvaneshwaran, who were under the  influence of liquor were remanded, police said
