Gang attacks two persons with sickles in full public view

Coimbatore : In a gory incident, a four member gang Tuesday chased and attacked two persons with sickles , just one km away from the offices of Police Commissioner and District Collector in full public view.
Pradeep,19, of Ganapathy, involved in a petty case and on bail, had gone to sign at the 2nd Judicial Magistrate court along with his friend, Tamilzh, this morning.
As they were returning, a four member gang in two motorcycles chased them for nearly 500 metres and attacked them with sickles and knives. Even after they fell unconscious in the middle of the road, the gang continued to attack them in full public view, police said.
On information, police rushed to the spot and took the injured to the Government hospital, where they are being treated, they said.
Preliminary inquiry revealed that the four had previous enmity with the victims. Police are on the lookout for them.
