Coimbatore : Senior railway officials Tuesday carried out an onboard muti-disciplinary surprise inspection in Intercity Express from Coimbatore to Salem Station.

The Salem Additional Divisional Railway Manager A Annadurai led the team and inspected various passenger amenities like seat condition, functioning of electrical fittings in coach were inspected and recorded their feedback, an official release said here.

Stating that cleanliness of coaches and maintenance of toilets has been checked it said that the condition of pantry car was inspected as were the quality and quantity of food items served.

During the time of Inspection awareness had been created among passengers about Helpline Nos such as Coach Mitras (Cleaning of Coaches), Women Help line nos and officials emphasized the benefits of UTS (unreserved ticketing system) on Mobile app for obtaining the unreserved ticket easily..

The surprise inspection will be carried out at trains and stations regularly in future.
