Chennnai: The Office-bearers of Tamil Film Directors Association met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa at the Secretariat in Chennai on November 24 and handed over letters of 62 Tamil film directors pledging to donate their organs on their death.

The letters authorized the donation of their bodies to Government hospitals so that they would be useful to society, particularly for medical research instead of being cremated or buried, which would be of no use to anyone, the office-bearers led by president Vikraman said shortly after meeting the Chief Minister.

In addition, two family members of the directors also undertook the pledge along with 62 directors and assistant directors, Vikraman said.

The office-bearers included vice presidents P Vasu and K S Ravkumar, and general secretary R K Selvamani
