Nilavembu drink to avert viral fevers

The district administration on Friday began distributing Nilavembu (Chiretta) drink to the general public in order avert viral fevers during the monsoon season. The drink will be distributed in all the 53 Government Siddha Medical hospitals and dispensaries in Coimbatore for five days between Wednesday and Sunday.
In a release, Archana Patnaik has said that Nilavembu increases immunity in the body and help avert viral fevers including dengue and swine flu. “The drink should be consumed for five days to be healthy,” she said.
