Not everyone has the stamina and the determination to run the marathon. Giving students and runners a chance to test their physical strength is the mini marathon, to be held in Coimbatore city on November 29. Around 7000 participants are expected to participate in the mini-marathon titled, “Relive the dream of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.”

KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore, has joined hands with the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India to organize the second edition of the mini marathon in Coimbatore city. The marathon is open to students of Class VI and above, college students, and men over the age of 40. Participants will have to run a distance of eight kilometres from Karumathampatti to KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology (KPRIET).

K.P. Ramasamy, Chairman of the KPR group; K. Bommannaraja, Principal of KPRIET; Krishnamoorthy, DSP of Somanur; Vasanthi Balraj, Principal, Konguvellalar Matric HSS, Karumathampatty; A.V. Govindaraj and S.S. Sevaraj, President, Kaniyur Panchayat; Velmurugam, Additional Director, NVKS, Government of India; and organizing secretary V. Thambidurai are expected to be present at the inauguration of the mini marathon.
