Petition to put an end to usury

A petition demanding stringent action against those indulging in usury was submitted to the district collector, by a group of people, today.
Led by AIADMK Singanallur MLA, Chinnasamy, nearly 100 persons, met the collector, Archana Patnaik and submitted the petition.
They urged the Collector to deploy more officers to prevent the menace of usury, which was prevalent in the district. The poor people are lured into taking loans and suffer, due to the abnormal interest rates.
