Search is on for an extremely considerate thief who broke into a house and stole an ATM card, only to use it to successfully withdraw Rs.100, thanks to the Personal Identification Number that was written on the back of the card.

The video footage at the ATM showed a person attempting to operate more than five cards to withdraw money. Finally, he succeeded in withdrawing Rs.100 from one of the cards, which had its PIN written on the back. The card was stolen from a house in Podanur.

The person had gained entry into the house after breaking open the latch of the back door early in the morning today, when the inmates of the house were fast asleep, and had robbed about four sovereign of gold jewels and the ATM card. In his hurry to leave, the thief left behind a wooden log that he had brought along with him as a weapon.
