Maoists weapons recovered in Kerala forests

Following a search operation in the jungles along the Tamil Nadu and Kerala borders, the police have recovered weapons allegedly used by the Maoists. There have been frequent gunfires between the extremists and the police forces of Kerala and Tamil Nadu along the state borders in recent times.

On Sunday, there was an exchange of fire between the police and the Maoists along the Tamil Nadu-Kerala borders. The Maoists ran into the forest. Police officials who went after them managed to secure the
weapons used by them.

Police recovered a gun and 18 bullets which were allegedly used by the Maoists in a cave in Semmanoor forests. The seized weapons were sent to the forensic experts for further examination.
