Rash driving by youth kills senior citizen

A 68-year-old man succumbed to his injuries after being hit by a motorist on Avinashi Road, on Thursday.
According to sources, the deceased M. Manickam from Singanallur was walking near RG Pudur Pirivu, when a young man on a two-wheeler crashed into him early on Thursday. Manickam sustained serious injuries on his head and died on his way to the hospital.
The motorist was later identified as D. Sudhagar (20) from Avinashi. A case has been registered against him.
Meanwhile, B. Lalitha (48) was also injured in the accident and is currently undergoing treatment at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital.
