Power loom workers strike from Dec. 23

Claiming that textile traders were giving lesser wages than what was fixed during the tripartite talks some months ago, power loom workers in Somanur called for a
hunger strike for five days from December 23.
According to Power Loom Job Workers’ Association sources, nearly two lakh workers will go on strike to highlight their plight and bring it to the notice of the Government. Future course of action will be decided during the course of the agitation.
