Man run over by lorry

A senior citizen was tragically killed by a speeding truck near Raja Street on Saturday.
According to sources, the deceased, S. Kannan (72) from Telugu Street, was walking near Raja Street Sullivan Junction around 11.30 am. A speeding lorry, driven by S. Nagarajan (30), hit Kannan and ran over him.
Kannan died on the spot. The driver of the speeding lorry was arrested by the city police and was later released on bail.
