Hospital blamed for death of 59-year old man

Some relatives of a 59-year old man, who died after undergoing treatment at GKNM hospital here for the last 15 days, today picketed the hospital to protest against wrong treatment.
Velayutham of Udayampalayam in the city was admitted to the hospital a fortnight ago and died in the early hours of today. The hospital management demanded Rs.1.25 lakh, the outstanding balance, for handing over the body, police said.
Blaming the hospital for wrong diagnosis and treatment, some relatives squatted in front of the hospital and sought compensation for the failure of the management and demanded that the body be handed over immediately.
The relatives and hospital authorities in talks over the issue.
