A 33-year-old man had allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a tamarind tree near Palathurai here on Monday.

According to sources, the lifeless body of Thirupathy from Bodinayakanur, near Theni, was found hanging from a tamarind tree near Palathurai. The body was first noticed by Elangovan, of Thirumalayampalayam, when he was returning home from his farm.

The Madukkarai Sub division police station was informed and the cops have retrieved the body. Investigations are on.
