Man drowns in canal

In a tragic accident, a 24-year-old man, who had come to attend his niece’s marriage, drowned while bathing in a canal near Negamam here on Wednesday.
According to Police, the deceased H. Azzarudin from Tirunelveli had come to Poliyiagoundenpalayam near Negamam along with his relatives to attend the marriage of his niece who is residing at Pollachi.
On Wednesday, Azzarudin had gone to take bath in a PAP canal at Karapadi to A. Nagore Road at Negamam with his relatives Ashraf, Mansoor, Rafiq and Mubarak. Since he did not know swimming, he reportedly drowned in the canal and died. A case has been registered with the Pollachi Sub division police and they have started the investigation.
