CRR School gives away memorial awards on Founder’s Day

As part of the Founder’s Day celebrations of CRR Matriculation Higher Secondary School, three persons from Coimbatore were given the C.R.R. Rukmani Ammal Memorial awards for their contributions in the fields of social work, education, and Tamil literature.

N. Ganesh, of NGO Helping Hearts; N. C. Nandagopalan of PSG Group; and K. Muttalmani, former professor and Head of Department of Tamil at the Government Arts College, Coimbatore, received memento and cash prizes of Rs.10,000 each from J. Narayanaswamy at the function that was organized recently at the school.

“We started our NGO Helping Hearts about seven years ago from the campus of this school. We are happy to receive the award at this school campus. This award is dedicated to all those who have supported us and who continue to support our NGO and its cause,” Ganesh said, after receiving the award.

The C.R.R. Rukmani Ammal Memorial awards are given to those who have contributed to education, Tamil Literature, and social work. Applications are invited and upon scrutinizing, the winner is selected from each category. “This is the fifth year that we are giving away these awards,” K. Jagadeesan, Secretary of CRR Matriculation Higher Secondary School, said.
