Two persons were arrested, and search was on for other two, for attempting to murder a real estate businessman, due to business rivalry in the real estate sector, in the wee hours of today.
According to police, the duo, along with Dandayuthapani and his accomplice, had followed Veerasamy last night around 10.30 p.m. at Ramanathapuram, with an intention to murder him due to rivalry in real estate business.
Smelling trouble, Veerasamy, aged 56, ran for cover, but two persons, identified as Dhanraj and Dhanakumar, chased and stabbed him from behind, resulting in bleeding injuries.
Hearing the screams, a few passersby came to the rescue of Veerasamy and admitted him to a private hospital. Seeing the public, the gang managed to escape.
On a tip off, police managed to nab two of them as they were hiding behind a building, in the wee hours, police said.
Search is on for Dandayuthapani and Sureshkumar, his accomplice.
