Two men were arrested on charges of murdering a BJP activist on January 15 in Kavundampalayam in the city.
According to police, 23-year-old Vigneshwaran, BJP worker, was found murdered with stab injuries and Thudiyalur police was investigating the matter.
On definite clues, police nabbed Saravanan and Sarathkumar of the area, who have confessed to the crime, which they committed as a result of previous enmity.
Vigneshwaran reportedly scolded the duo, following a motor cycle accident they were involved in some days ago. He is said to have used foul language on Pongal day, when they were watching a sports event. Unable to bear this, both stabbed the BJP worker with knives they had kept hidden, they told the police.
Police arrested them in the late hours of yesterday, when they were attempting to go out of the city, after being in hiding for two days.
