Collector distributes Rs. 2.90 crore welfare schemes

District Collector, Archana Patnaik today unfurled the tricolour to mark the celebrations of 67th Republic Day in the district. She took salute from the police and para military force at the parade organised at the Parade Grounds, after which she gave away the Chief Minister’s Republic Day medals to 75 police personnel for their meritorious service.
The Collector also distributed Government welfare schemes worth Rs. 2.90 crore to 259 beneficiaries.
Republic Day was also observed at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Bharathiar University, and many schools and colleges, in which large number of students participated, and also took part in cultural programmes.
