Workers of more than 30,000 power loom job working units are all set to go on an indefinite strike from January 28, because they are not being paid the wages that the manufactures agreed upon in 2014.

As per the three-year agreement, the clothes manufacturers who give the weavers the jobs agreed to give a 27 percent rise in the wages. According to the Powerloom Job Working Weavers Association, the revised wages were paid for a few months, but soon, they reverted to the old wages.

The association decided to go on a strike last week and has sought the support of other job working units in the near-by areas.
