Priscilla, a third-year student of the Royal Nursing College, Madukarai, and a resident of the Nilgiri district, died when she fell off the hostel balcony on Monday evening. She was rushed to the Government Hospital, but was declared brought dead by the doctors.

The body was sent to autopsy.

Priscilla’s father, Yesudas, expressed his suspicion over her death. He said that the college management had told him that his daughter was in serious condition at the hospital, but when he arrived at the hospital, he was told that she had already died. He alleged that there were caste-based clashes in the college and suspected that his daughter might have been killed because she belonged to the backward community.

He also claimed that nobody from the college management was present at the hospital. Meanwhile, Priscilla’s relatives gathered at the hospital and refused to receive the body. They demanded a thorough investigation against the college.
