Missing boy found dead in a well

The search for a missing 11-year-old boy ended on a tragic note when his lifeless body was recovered from a farm well in Kolathupalayam.

According to the police, on the evening of February 7, Karthikeyan went out to play, and did not return home. His worried parents filed a complaint with the police. Even as the search was on, farm workers in Oorgounder Thottam noticed foul smell emanating from a well and informed the owners and the local police.

In front of a huge crowd, the police retrieved the body from the well and sent it to the Government Hospital for post-mortem. Police suspect that the boy might have accidentally fallen into the well when was trying to catch the pigeons that nested around it.
