Santhosam 2016, the annual conference hosted by RI District 3201, began on a grand scale with a fashion show of Coimbatore-based designer Archana Bhatia. The party was hosted at Jenny’s Residency.

The fashion show was a visual treat for the eyes and it gave fellow Coimbatoreans a glimpse of what’s trending in the world of glitz and glamour in the metropolitan cities of the country. Archana herself had choreographed the show. The audience predominantly consisted of members of the various Rotary Clubs that constitute RI District 3201.

“This is the second time that I’m showcasing my collections. I would like bring to Coimbatore city the fashion that is trending in the metropolitan cities of our country. This launch party of Santhosam 2016 is one of the best ways to do so,” Archana said. Her fashion boutique, Saianna Style Studio, is located in RS Puram. Hardly a year old, the fashion studio already has regular buyers. Some of the garments that the models displayed on the ramp will be on sale at Saianna Style Studio.

Archana designs the garments all by herself, and the designs are brought to life at her state-of-the-art factory located in Peelamedu. The factory is more than a decade old.

The past few days have been hectic for Archana, putting together the apparels for the models who are all college students. This being the wedding season, Archana chose to display heavy garments that one can wear for these occasions. There were saris with heavy embroidery that were perfectly paired with heavy embroidery blouses. The girls also walked the ramp with evening gowns that had simple to heavy embroidery. One of the sequences was dedicated exclusively to long skirts.

Santhosam 2016 is a two day conference that will be hosted on February 13 and 14 at Hotel Le Méridien, Coimbatore.
