All six blast-injured migrant workers dead

With five victims of the boiler accident already succumbing to their injuries on Friday, the last of the victims died here on Saturday at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital.
The deceased J. Saroj (20) was fighting hard for survival with 100 per cent burn injuries. However, CMCH officials had said late on Friday that Saroj’s condition was worsening with time.
Saroj was the last of the six victims of the Shri Nagalakshmi Pyrolysis Boiler accident near Chettipalayam, in which A. Gunal (19), S. Birjune (20), J. Saroj (20), A. Dharun (19), D. Bicose (19) and S. Preetham (25), all from West Bengal, had already succumbed to their injuries.
Four of the five accused, including the Managing Director of the factory, K.T. Balaguru from Kavundanpalayam, his sons B. Thirumalairajan, B. Senthil and T. Gowtham, the supervisor of the factory, were arrested
However, they were released on bail even before the victims started to die one by one. Notably, the factory too had been running without a license.
Meanwhile, members of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) petitioned the District Collector Archana Patnaik demanding action against the factory owner and seeking security to workers working in factories.
The members also said that they would cremate the corpses of all six victims after post mortem on Sunday.
