Six soldiers injured in accident en route to paying tribute to Siachen victims

Six army men, part of the 25-member troop from Madras Regiment Centre, were injured, two of them seriously, when the van in which were they travelling, turned turtle on the highway, about 30 KM from here. They were on their way to Bengaluru to pay tribute to the two soldiers who died in the recent avalanche in Siachen.

According to army sources, the troop was going to participate in the parade in Bengaluru, where the mortal remains of Nagesh and Mahesh, were expected to arrive this evening. But the van in which they were travelling turned turtle near Kallahatti. Six soldiers were injured.

All the six were admitted to the Government Hospital. The rest of the troop continued their journey to Bengaluru.
