Suravali is the name of the Tamil play that is the adaptation of the famous English play ‘The Tempest’ written by William Shakespeare. The Tamil version has been translated by Indra Parthasarthy.

The creators of Ponniyan Selvan by Magic Lantern will enact the Suravali, the Tamil version of The Tempest in Coimbatore city today and tomorrow, February 27 and 28. The play would be a confluence of music, dance and special effects and are the organizers claim that they are presenting the premier show of Suravali in Coimbatore city.

This event is an initiative of the Coimbatore Round Table 62 (CMRT62) and Coimbatore Metropolitan Ladies circle 23 (CMLC23). Both the groups are a part of Round Table India and its National Freedom Through Education project. As a part of this national project 4,000 classrooms for the cost of rupees 100 crores will be built across India. The Tamil play Suravali is a fundraising initiative of CMRT62 and CMLC23.
