Residents of Ward 22 in Mettupalayam hoisted black flags atop their houses today in protest against the non-availability of drinking water for the past few days.

The residents of areas like L.S. Puram and Boriahgouder Street said that they were not getting drinking water for the last few days and, with their complaints to the local councillor and Municipality authorities falling on deaf ears, they resorted to the black flag protest in order to get the attention of the officials.
