Two unidentified bodies found in Coimbatore

Coimbatore District police have come across two unidentified male corpses in various places in the district here on Saturday.

According to sources, residents of Vettaikaranpudhur in Anaimalai here had noticed a unidentified man, aged around 45 years, hanging from a tree in a burial ground in the area.

The man had reportedly used his own dhoti to hang himself and based on a tip by the people which was later forwarded to Village Administrative Officer of Udayakulam, Karunai Mahalingam, the Anaimalai police retrieved the corpse and sent it to the Vettaikaranpudhur for autopsy.

In another incident, based on a tip from the residents of Thimmam Palayam in Karamadai, the Village Administrative Officer of Marudur, Yasar Arafat had retrieved the corpse of an unidentified man, aged around 40 years from near a farm house in the area. The body has been sent to the Mettupalayam Government Hospital for autopsy.

Separate cases have been registered by the Coimbatore district police regarding the incidents.
