Depressed over not clearing the MD examinations, a trainee lady doctor committed suicide at her home in Peelamedu, Coimbatore, by hanging herself.

26-year-old Krithika was a trainee doctor in a private hospital in Coimbatore. She had recently appeared for MD examinations, but failed to score the pass percentage. This pushed her into depression.

Yesterday, when she didn’t come out of her room in the morning, her parents grew suspicious and broke open her bed room only to find her hanging from the ceiling fan. They immediately brought her down and rushed her to the hospital in a very serious condition. But, by evening, Krithika died.

The body was then sent for post-mortem studies. Investigations are on.
