Stand up comedy comes to Coimbatore

Actor and theatre personality Karthik Kumar will soon be in Coimbatore for an evening of stand-up comedy. The show, called #POKEME, will be held on April 2, from 6 pm onwards at Sri Ramakrishna Auditorium, Avarampalayam.
Karthik is part of acclaimed theatre group Evam’s stand-up comedy team, Tamasha, that was created in 2008. The group consists of eight stand-up comedians. This however is Karthik’s debut solo performance in Coimbatore, and it will be in English.
#POKEME is an initiative of the Rotaract Club of Coimbatore Cacil, which is under the Rotary Club of Coimbatore Millennium.
“This is Karthik’s debut solo show in Coimbatore and it will be one-and-a-half hours long,” Mani Raj, International Service Director, Rotaract Club of Coimbatore Cacil, said. Funds that are raised through this project will be used to support a school for the specially-abled in Coimbatore.
