Kongunadu Jananayaka Katchi (KJK), a regional political outfit, today decided to join PMK as an ally in the upcoming Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu on May 16, thus becoming the first ally of PMK.

Briefing reporters on the deliberations of high power committee, KJK Founder-Convenor G.K. Nagaraj said that the decision was taken following the call given by PMK leader S. Ramadoss to those who were opposing DMK and AIADMK.

Similarly, PMK also shared the mandate of KJK, such as total prohibition, providing free education and medical assistance, and focussing on welfare of farming community, he said.

The party has been given dish antenna as the election symbol and the number of seats and constituencies to be sought from the PMK will be decided by the committee next week, he said.
