INTUC leader N. Nanjappan has lodged a complaint that belongings worth over Rs.13,000, kept in a hand bag by his granddaughter, were found missing after she came out of the examination hall of a private college some three days ago.

In his complaint to the city Police Commissioner, Nanjappan said that Snehaa Latha, a B.A. first year student had kept her hand bag, with a book, cash and a mobile phone, all worth Rs.13,800, outside the examination hall on April 4.

As she found the bag missing, she lodged a complaint with the college authorities. Despite the complaint, reminder and also personally meeting the Principal yesterday, the authorities had not taken action against the theft, he said. There were several such theft complaints earlier also.

Nanjappan requested the Commissioner to arrange to trace the lost articles and also advice the college administration to compensate the loss.
