The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), Congress, and Vijayakanth-led DMDK-PWF are all set to officially begin their election campaign from Monday, April 11, onwards. The parties, however, have not yet released the final lists of candidates.

The DMK’s star campaigner will be its chief, Mu. Karunanidhi, who will run his campaign from his wheelchair and a specially designed vehicle imported from Germany. Heir apparent Stalin has already started his door-to-door campaign in various parts of the city.

DMK’s ally, Congress, has a list of celebrity campaigners, led by its women’s wing leader, Khushboo, and Nagma. DMK’s celebrity campaigners include Poochi Murugan, Vagai Chandrasekhar, and Imman Annachi.

Despite constant rumours about his health, Vijayakanth will lead his alliance’s campaign. According to a DMDK press release, he will address 12 meetings until April 17, in Chennai, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, Vellore and Tiruvannamalai.

BJP, which is confident this time about rewriting its dismal history in the state’s political scenario, is ready with star campaigners Visu, Gayathri Raghuram, and Gangai Amaran.
