Coimbatore-based Alexander Equestrian Club joined hands with Santhanam Fan Club and organized a day-long organ donation and blood donation camp today at the Alexander Equestrian Club today. This was to commemorate the birthday of Charles Jose, the Managing Director of Martin Group of Companies.

The camp was open to all, and the employees of the Martin Group of Companies, members of Santhanam Fan Club, and the general public signed the form pledging to donate their vital organs. “Until 4 pm, about 60 people pledged their vital organs, and donors have donated 80 units of blood. We hope to collect 150 units of blood by the end of the camp,” Shakthi Balaji, of the Alexander Equestrian Club, said.

The donated blood will be sent to the Indian Medical Association. We were also told that those who have pledged their organs will receive their Organ Donors Card from the Government of Tamil Nadu within a month.

This is the debut social event organized by the two-year-old Alexander Equestrian Club. The club plans to organise a blood donation camp once in three months.
