A case of negligence has been filed against the site engineer, following the death of two persons at a construction site last night in Coimbatore.

The driver, Chellamuthu, and his assistant, Dinesh, were killed when the concrete mix lorry fell in a 10-foot-deep pit and turned turtle, around 8.45 PM yesterday. After struggling for nearly three hours, due to non-availability of a suitable crane to lift the lorry, the bodies of both the workers were recovered and were sent to the Government Hospital to carry out post mortem.

Police registered a case against the site engineer, Karthik, under section 304 (A) (causing death by negligence). So far no arrest has been made.
