Those who have played Breakout and Escape Room in Bengaluru will be familiar with escape games titled ‘Behind the Bars’ and ‘Dazzling Diamond Treasure.’ While in Bengaluru, Coimbatore-based businessman Raghavendra Karthick B.H. played the games. He liked them so much that he brought the two concepts in the form of Dare 2 Escape gaming parlour to Coimbatore. The players need logical reasoning and observation to solve the two games.

Run by three gaming freaks, Dare 2 Escape, located in R.S. Puram, is the first of its kind gaming parlour in Coimbatore. The interiors of the parlour are simple yet peppy. The parlour consists of three rooms – two rooms that house the two games, and a waiting area with a photo booth.

Players can include a team of two to six persons. They are allowed to play one of the two games at a time. The rules of the two escape games are simple. While Dazzling Diamond Treasure requires the team to solve a mystery of an illegal diamond abduction, the Behind the Bars game involves solving vital clues to ensure that the team-members, who are in prison, escape from the lock up. In the second game, the team is handcuffed and blindfolded too. All this, we are told, to give the players a feeling of actually being in jail. Both the games are time-bound. The team of players has just one hour to crack the game.

“I first played these two games in Bengaluru. I liked the concept so much that I joined hands with my wife and one of my friends and we started this place in Coimbatore. We are happy that people of Coimbatore enjoy spending time here,” Raghavendra says.

It has been more than a month since Dare 2 Escape was launched in Coimbatore. Its owner shares with us that 400 people have tried their hands at the games until now, but only four have managed to crack both the games. The youngest player to have successfully completed both the games is a four-year-old boy, while the oldest is a 50-year-old woman.
