Sexual abuse of minor girl; 10 years jail for senior citizen

A senior citizen was today sentenced by the Mahila Court to undergo 10 year imprisonment on charges of making sexual advances with a seven-year old girl.
According to the prosecution, 65-year-old P. Chinnasamy, a resident of Peelamedu, Coimbatore, was working in an automobile shop in Tirupur. He was at home on July 27, 2014. He noticed a seven-year-old girl, daughter of a construction worker, playing, and made sexual advances towards her. The child immediately informed her mother.
Based on the complaint, police registered a case and arrested Chinnasamy.
The case was going on in the Mahila Court in Coimbatore. Delivering the judgement, Judge G. Raja sentenced the accused to undergo 10 years imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs.1,000, failing which he would undergo imprisonment of two more months.
