Snag halts Heritage rail midway

Around 100 passengers of the Heritage Nilgiris Mountain Rail were stranded nearly for two hours as the train stopped in the middle of the journey following a technical snag.
The NMR that left Mettupalayam at 7.10 a.m. to Udhagamandalam stopped near Kallar station at 7.45 a.m. following snapping of the connecting rod, police said.
On information, a technical team rushed to the spot and rectified the snag around 9.45 a.m.
