The BNI Admirals Titanium chapter, based in Coimbatore, celebrated Women’s Entrepreneurship’s Day today. Women entrepreneurs from various fields were honoured at the celebrations.

BNI (Business Network International) is a business referral organization. Its members include entrepreneurs and working professionals. There are nine BNI chapters currently active in Coimbatore. The city is all set to add one more to the list. Members of BNI meet every week. During these meetings business referrals are passed on and the overall performance of the BNI chapter is reviewed.

With women entrepreneurs being celebrated, the focus this time was on the leading women entrepreneurs of our city. In her talk on women entrepreneurs, chapter member Shruti Desai, an entrepreneur herself, spoke about the successful women entrepreneurs our city has produced.

Several non-member women entrepreneurs were invited as guests for the special meeting. The guest list included Dr. Asha Rao, Gynaecologist and Obstetrician of Rao Hospital Coimbatore; Dr. Chitra Ramamurthy, The Eye Foundation, Coimbatore; Madhu Wadhwa, Upper Crust, Coimbatore; and Jasmeet Kaur, founder of Jassie’s Delights, Coimbatore. In all, this meeting had 42 visitors today.

“BNI Admirals Titanium Chapter has 77 members in all. As of June 30, a total of 22,642 referrals have been passed on and business worth Rs.194.18-crores has been transacted by this chapter. This chapter has recorded a total of 3,935 visitors,” Imtiaz Hameed J., President of BNI Admirals Titanium Chapter, said.

By rule, every BNI chapter will admit only one member in a particular field. This, we are told, is followed to ensure that each member gets the referrals and does maximum business. The chapter is open to members in the fields of mobile phone dealership, wedding venue planners, cement manufacturers, and steel manufacturers.
