Court orders setting up of a division to stop kidnapping children

In a new initiative to prevent kidnapping of children, the Madras High court has ordered the setting up of a separate division at the state and district levels.
The order follows kidnapping of children from the sidewalks in Chennai on the basis of which a habeous corpus writ was filed by Exnora director Nirmal in the court.
Police said the number of children kidnapped one to seven years ago and not found stood at 47; number of children kidnapped more than seven years ago, and not found, were six.
