Senior citizen robbed of gold ornaments and cash

A 75-year-old woman was robbed of cash and valuables, including 30 sovereign of gold ornaments, by a person who trespassed into her house in Podanur, today.

When Ayesha was preparing food around 8 AM, a person entered her home in the housing unit in Kurichi, through the backdoor, and tied her up with rope, police said. Even before she could raise an alarm, the thief removed her two ear rings, bangles, and chain worn by her, and also Rs.30,000 kept in the bureau, and fled the scene.

On information from the neighbours, police rushed to the spot and have started investigating.
