ONGC wins PSG basketball championship

ONGC today lifted the PSG Trophy by beating the Tamil Nadu State team, 84-72, in the finals of the 52nd All India Basket Ball Championship, which concluded here in Coimbatore.

ONGC led 45-37 at half time. Riyazuddin scored 26 points, Vishesh Bhrighvanshi 18, and Amrit
Pal Singh 16 for the winners, while Sivabalan netted 22, Jeevananthan 18, and Aravind 13 for the team that lost.

In addition to the trophy, the winners won cash prize of Rs.1 lakh, and the runners-up were given Rs. 50,000. The semi-finalists, Vijaya Bank and Income Tax Department, were given Rs.15,000 each.
